Bue Spanish works with different associations, soups kitchens, orphanages and community centers to offer volunteering oportunities to our students.

Proyect 1 - Comedor Madre Camila Proyect 2 - Hogar Dr. Esteban Maradona

This is a soup kitchen organized by a group of nuns called "Hermanas pobres bonaerenses de San José". Besides their religious philosophy, the group of sisters has created a soup kitchen that receives a lot of needed people, mainly adults that need their daily meals. They also offer different types of workshops: catechesis, music, dance and pottery lessons.

The soup kitchen is open from 7 am till 4 pm. They prepare breakfast and then there are two shifts for lunch. The workshops have different timetables.

This is a lodging located in a neighborhood called Palermo, which houses families from the north of Argentina (Formosa, Misiones, Corrientes, Chaco) and also from Paraguay, who are in the city to perform a medical test. The people stay there have no economical resources to stay in the city. That is why this home gives shelter, food and medical advice to all the people that arrive every day. There are approximately 30 people living in the house (including adults and children).

They need volunteers to help with every day activities and also materials such as food, clothes,bedclthes, etc

Proyect 3 - Tiflonexos - Visually impaired people Proyect 4 - Casa del Sol

Tiflonexos is a nonprofit civil association that works towards the develpment of visually impaired people in the fields of new technologies, access to information and culture.

They organize different types of events to raise funds for their association. They organize book presentations, fashion shows, wine tastings for blind people, etc. The volunteers can participate in the organizarion of all the events and in the advertising of the work they do: translation of signs, brochures and books in Braille.

Casa del Sol is a home that houses 20 children from juvenile courts (from 1 to 18 years old). They care and work to enable the child to meet their families. At other times they seek adoptive families. In the case of young people, they are helped to find a job that allows them to become independant.

Volunteers can organize and participate in workshops such as recreation, painting, pottery, reading and dance. They can also accompany the kids to activites outside the home, help with the house work or give the kids school support.

Proyect 5 - Club Union los Pibes Proyect 6 - Community Center - El taller

El Club Unión de los Pibes (The Kids' Union), located in Barracas, is a non-profit project which aims to provide adults and children of the southern BA neighborhoods with a place to come together and strengthen their community.

The objective of their project is to teach children the importance of community, instilling in them values and self confidence that will allow them to succeed. The kids who come to the club will learn how to work together, regardless of their background, in a healthy way to help sustain and improve their community. They will learn that they have a voice and that they can be heard.

They offer school support lessons(maths, language, english, etc) and also recreational activities for kids. They also organize day outings around the city: visits to the zoo, museums, etc.

This comunnity center is located in Montserrat. It is a center that aims to develop and maintain the culture of the neighborhood, a place where all the people living in the area can meet and create a group of friends and collegues.

They offer different workshops for kids:

  • Chez
  • Drawing and painting
  • Dancing
  • Theatre
  • Sewing
  • School support

Workshops for adults:

  • Skills training (sewing and confection of clothes)
