
The DELE (Diploma de Español como Lengua Extranjera), issued by Spain's Ministry of Education and administered by the Instituto Cervantes, is an official accreditation of Spanish language abilities. The exam verifies abilities in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding Spanish with three levels of certification.

The Diplomas in Spanish as a Foreign Language (DELE) are the only officially accredited qualifications issued by the Ministry for Education of the Kingdom of Spain that are administered internationally. They are recognized worldwide by private companies, chambers of commerce and public and private educational systems. It is important to note at this point that their use is mainly related to educational and professional contexts

- Diploma de Español Nivel A1 (Starter level):
- Diploma de Español Nivel B1 (Inicial / Beginner level)

- Diploma de Español Nivel C2 (Superior / Proficiency level)
exam format
The examinations consist of five tests for levels B1, B2 and C2, and four tests for level A1 or starter level, each of which includes different exercises.

Buespanish teachers work with different materials including the guides created by the Cervantes Institute. In this way students will become familiar with the format of the exams.

There is just one exam that evaluates the use of Spanish language through the integration of different dimensions. These, in turn, can be developed at different levels, so there is a single exam and assesses the extent to which the individual can comply with the proposed tasks.

exam format
The examination consist in two tests: an oral part (it lasts 20 minutes) and a written part (it lasts 3 hours).

The exam is usually held twice a year, in June and November.
