Argentinian Culture Programme 10 hours per week
An intermediate level of Spanish is required. You will learn different aspects of the history and the Argentinean culture, including the traditional meals, its art and customs.
As regards the class structure we combine grammar, vocabulary, conversation, and reading. Students learn and practice Spanish working with written exercises, comics, listening songs, playing games, having conversations related to diverse topics, role plays, reading different kinds of texts such as newspapers, letters, interviews, literary fragments, advertisements.
Students learn Spanish with Buespanish materials. We have produced our own books, organized in six levels: Initial, Basic, Intermediate, Advanced intermediate, Advanced, and Superior.
In each level the student works in order to develop the Spanish language through a communicative approach. We work on the four major abilities: reading, listening, writing and oral. Each level lasts 80 hours.
We like to teach with games, cards, pictures and verb wheels to complement our books.
Initial: The student learns how to express and talk in a foreign country, in simple and every day situations.
Basic: The student can handle with more confidence different situations in every day life.
Intermediate: The student can behave with self-assurance in different social areas. Their language is fluent and they can understand native speakers.
Advanced intermediate: The student can use the language in a familiar way. Their reading and listening comprehension is large. Their vocabulary is varied.
Advanced: The student speaks almost as a native speaker. They have access to the communication media and cultural areas. They have few difficulties with language variations.
Superior: The student can express himself correctly: in oral and in writing. They can understand native speakers perfectly and can read texts on a range of topics.
With the Verb Wheel, Spanish students will have a useful and enjoyable way to practice verb conjugations, both in the context of a class or for self learning. The verb wheel is double-sided, in total there are 36 verbs, 18 from each side. Each verb presents the simple present tense, past tense and simple future, as well as nonverbal forms, participle and gerund. As you rotate the outer wheel, you can see the sucessive verbs with their conjugations. By simple turning the outer wheel, students will have the model of the conjugation of regular and irregular verbs used in the Spanish language.
